A Special Thank You to Pilots N Paws!

Adopted

November 15, 2010 - Shorty was adopted on October 30, 2010 to a wonderful family that just adores him.  He has 3 wonderful boys to play and romp around with and enjoys walks with his mom and playing in the back yard.

September 30, 2010 -Shorty has been at his foster home for almost one month. He has a foster sister that he will snuggle and play with. But what Shorty really loves is people. He is an extremely affectionate, beautiful Boxer. He ADORES being with his human and is eager to please. He loves to play, run and do his funny skip. He enjoys his walks and is great on the leash.  Shorty has learned how to climb stairs and has mastered the sit command.  His foster mom will be working with him on other basic commands as well. Shorty enjoys learning and picks up on routines quickly.

Shorty still suffers from separation anxiety. He is a good boy about going into his crate, but drools a lot when left alone. We are looking to place Shorty into a family environment where he will be the only dog for now. Although Shorty is not dog aggressive, he definitely prefers humans over other dogs.  By placing him as an only dog, his forever home can help him focus on being a “dog” and having a family, which is something that he has never had before. Shorty will need to be placed with someone that is home more often than not so they can work with Shorty on his separation anxiety.

Shorty has tons of unconditional love that he is ready to give to a forever-family of his own!

September 19, 2010 – Shorty has been at his foster home for almost two weeks.  He has a foster sister that he is not 100% sure of, so his foster mom is taking it one day a time and introducing them slowly.  Shorty has been through a lot of stress over the past few months; from shelters to plane rides to a foster home and we believe he just needs some time to settle in.  He is very underweight, so his foster mom is working on putting a little meat on his bones.  He is a very sweet boy and LOVES human contact. Shorty does not seem to know any basic commands, yet he seems very eager to learn and please. He is excellent when walking him on a front pull harness – he does not leave your side.  He is very attentive to his handler and will stick like glue to the first person that shows him any affection.

Shorty does not seem to be crated trained and  has been experiencing some  crate and separation anxiety while his foster mom has been at work the past few days, so she is working on this with him as well. She is also still in the stage of figuring out if Shorty will be fine with another dog in the home or if he needs to be an only dog.   Once that is determined, we will then be able to determine what type of “forever” home is the best for Shorty.  Please check back as we get to know Shorty a little better as he settles into his foster home.

Meet Shorty!

August 29, 2010:   Shorty has finally arrived thanks to Pilots N Paws!   He is a very sweet boy.  He loves to play and would be great with kids. He is goofy and silly, have you seen that tongue?! Shorty craves attention and just wants to be loved.  When you meet him, he will give you a quirky look and his ears will point up and then he will give you a signature Boxer Hug!  Shorty is ready to go on walks at any time, he loves 'em!  Shorty will be settling into his foster home soon, so please check back for updates.
