Darla is a HUGE part of our lives. Everyone who is lucky enough to meet Darla just loves her right away. She is the Queen
of our lives and she is even the Queen where she goes to daycare. She LOVES going to daycare and playing with the other dogs.
She is quite the social butterfly. We make sure Darla gets to the Barking Dog at least once a week so she can really cut loose
or just hang out by the pool and watch the other dogs run around like lunatics.
Darla is just mad about car rides and is always happy
to go for a ride to Dunkin Donuts, where the girls at the drive through window just hand Darla's bag right to her in the back seat.
Like I said, everyone loves Darla.
D's energy level and stamina are so much higher than when she first came to be with us. She
loves to hang out in the yard and watch/help us fish. We have a nice private country road that she likes to go for jogs on and
she just loves to go in the woods and chase chipmunks, squirrels and best of all: TURKEYS!. Of course, being a senior,
Darla is always sure to take a power nap in between each activity.
We love to include Darla in everything that we possibly can.
She is so easy to do things with since she is a regal and quiet lady. But she is always up for something new. Last night
Darla finally got to go out in a boat with us. She has been jumping into the boat while it has been on shore so she was pretty
excited to finally go out on the lake. She has her own life jacket which she likes to wear and she got to have lamb cookies
out on the boat. The whole experience was very positive for Her Maj. She had so much fun that when I took her out for
her 5a.m. tinkle Darla walked right down to the steps that go to the water and then dragged me over to the boat and looked over her
shoulder at me with that "What are you waiting for?" look of her's. Too cute and so hard to resist.
Darla is wonderful with her
kitty brothers, Artemis and Apollo. They often all lay on the couch and nap together. When the weather is chilly Darla
will share her blankets and pillows with her brothers. All three of the ding a lings eat together, ask for cookies together
and beg for egg yolks together. It is a peaceable kingdom here where Darla reigns supreme.
We are madly in love with D and can't
believe that she has only been with us for 6 months yet the 6 months has seemed to fly by. We treasure every minute with our
girl and do our best to provide a wonderful life for her and in return Darla gives us so much love and joy. Every day we acknowledge
that we have the best Boxer ever (I know, we all have "the best Boxer ever").
Darla is happy, healthy and very, very loved. Thank
you TBRI!
