Jackson seems to fit in perfectly with our family.  He’s only been here one week but it seems like forever.   He’s gotten in to a good routine with walks and doing his business.   He has been great when left alone during the day.  It appears he just hangs around and waits for us to get home.   As soon as we get home he’s so happy.  He loves the kids and they LOVE him.   We’ve been having fun playing with him in the house and just being around him.  He’s a great dog!

Jackson arrived at his foster home today and is settling in nicely.  He has gone for several walks and is getting to know his surroundings.   Jackson is a big love bug and has been wonderful with the children.  We have already fallen in love.

Meet Jackson!  Jackson is a very sweet, 70 pound, 2-year-old boxer boy whose owners are relinquishing him primarily due to a general uneasiness with his size and energy around there 1 and 4 year old children.  He has a tendency to unintentionally knock them over, as he seems to be somewhat unaware of his size and strength. Although, the owners report that when he is settled in the home, he is wonderful with both children, allowing them to lie on him and pet him anywhere.

Jackson can get very excited when he meets a new person and will attempt to jump on them, but he seems to take correction easily.  He knows his basic commands such as “sit” and “down”.  His owners have also used the “turn the back” method to discourage jumping and that seems to work.  He is quite excitable, but it doesn’t take him long to settle down.  Because of Jackson’s size and energy, we will be looking to place him in a home with older children (12+).

Jackson currently lives with a female Boxer and does well with other dogs and likes to play, but he has a very strong prey drive, so he will need to go to a home with no cats and no smaller animals.  He is a very sweet boy that needs some obedience training and a little work on the manners.

Jackson is use to a large back yard with a 4 foot fence, so we would like his forever home to have a fenced in yard.   Please check back for more updates as we secure a foster home for this handsome boy!
