Neo is doing great, he's adapting very well to his new environment. He's playful, rambunctious, and gets along with everyone as if he had been with us for years. Neo has made friends with our other dog, Shady, and they're constantly putting on an enjoyable show. He's a great dog and we're so glad he's come to live with us.

Neo is an amazing bundle of love!  I have so much to say about this dog I don’t know where to start. NEO was totally stressed at the shelter – it was loud and full and there were lots of barking dogs. NEO was soaking his pen with drool. Much to my surprise when I met him he was a lot smaller than I expected. He’s a medium size boxer.

As soon as we got outside you could see him relax as if to say ahh. As, we were leaving a family arrived they had visited the shelter previous and NEO had clearly spent some time with the man/family. I have already observed NEO with men, women, children, and dogs.  NEO is a very loving, playful, happy dog. He is (exceptionally more submissive with women) than men. He enjoyed playing with a yellow lab name Faith.

He loves car rides which I was soon to learn. He had fresh air for a couple minutes and then passed out cold. He slept the entire way. He makes this incredibly cute noise when he’s sleeping sounds like the Three Stooges.

NEO loves to play catch. I threw the ball and he brought it back without me asking to so I threw it again and again and again. We went for a nice long walk and marked the neighborhood.  We had our heartworm preventative pill and also flea/tick stuff.

Neo:   I  jumped right in the tub for my bath. My foster mom was so pleased with me she already took me to Petco (she said I behaved so well) and I got a new dinosaur toy. I love to play fetch, it helps me burn of my energy and keep my six pack. I met some geese this morning.  I can jump onto a 5ft rock wall with ease. I’m not interested in birds much. Cats – on the other hand I’m way too interested in. I will dart after them while on leash. I walk really well on the leash. I get so excited when I see my leash I do the kidney bean dance…do you know how? I can teach you!  My foster mom makes me sit before I put my leash on. She said over stimulating unnecessarily isn’t good. I’m house broken. Oh and as far as my ‘separation anxiety’ goes my foster mom wants me to let you know; that she got the mail and came back, took a ride and got a coffee and came back, sat outside where I could see her and then later left for 2 hours and came back to a dog sleeping on the couch.

Please open your heart to this beautiful soul whose only desire is to please and love you.

Neo arrived at his foster home and is settling in nicley.  Please check back soon for updates as we get to know this handsome boy.

May 6, 2011

Meet Neo!  This handsome boy is 8 years old and full of love and kisses!  Unfortunately, Neo has found himself at a Shelter.   He was surrendered by his owners because they believe he has separation anxiety.  Neo is not doing well at all in the shelter environment and is very stressed out; he needs out of the shelter ASAP.

He has recently shown signs of separation anxiety and started chewing on things in the home and banging up against his crate; trying to chew out of it until he bled.  He actually has missing teeth from doing this in the crate.   We believe he was never crate trained properly and might be exhibiting signs of boredom rather than separation anxiety where it has just started and where they were leaving him home for 8 hours a day tied in the living room.

Neo lived with children in his previous home, but we are unsure if Neo is good with cats or dogs at this time, but we do know that he walks excellent on leash when walking by other dogs.   They say Neo is a real love bug.  He loves balls, walks and loves to be with his people!

We are in need of a foster home for Neo, so if you have the room, time and love to help this boy out, please contact us at info@theboxerrescue.org or apply to foster by filling out an application at

This boy needs your help!
