Moxie has become our alarm clock full of kisses for both breakfast and dinner. I work from home and time can
get away from me sometimes. Moxie comes to visit, sits perfectly next to me and gives her little kitty cat kisses and I know it's
dinner time. She and Rocky are getting along great, they love to wrestle, play chase and then cuddle together. As I was writing
this she chose to lie down on top of him to go to sleep vs the 10 other places she could have gone. Once she's comfortable and trusts
you she really is a love bug.
Moxie spent a few days at a kennel while we were away and did 2 vet visits for her shots - in both
places she interacted well with humans. On walks and at the house she continues to get anxious so we will continue working on this
and try to get more socializing in.

Now that Moxie and Rocky are comfortable cohabbitating together, we have
introduced some toys. Moxie loves the tennis ball and frisbee. She is good at retrieving and returning both. She will now get to enjoy
this between wrestling and nap time with Rocky. Moxie continues to let Rocky take the alpha lead and has less conflicts with
this. Our focus will now primarily be on her impulse control issues. This typically happens when we get the leash to go for a walk
or on walks when we see other dogs and people. Moxie has underdeveloped social manners, She tends to have some impulse control
issues, typically when we get the leashes out to go for walks and passing dogs and people during the walks so we continue to work
with her on this. We started with putting her on a tie out in the front yard while we are out there. Our neighborhood has a
lot of walkers, runners, bikers, some including dogs. Each day she gets less anxious and sometimes will just lie in the grass and
watch them pass. She responds well to positive reinforcement with treats so the next few weeks we will add this to front yard activities
and walks. Stay tuned for what we expect to be positive improvement! Her forever home will need to be experienced with the Boxer
breed, able to continue her training and maintain the leadership role. She is a beautiful, sweet girl with so much potential.

Moxie is adjusting to her new environment and playmate. She is really fast and likes to play chase with Rocky in the yard and go for walks.. She has an understanding of all the basic commands that just need to be reinforced and has no issues going into her crate. Moxie tends to have some impulse control issues, typically when we get the leashes out to go for walks and passing dogs and people during the walks so we will be working on this. She was quick to be protective of our home and us, after a few weeks she appears to be accepting Rocky as the alpha, but still has some conflicts with this. Moxie is a sweet girl who likes to give lots of little kitty cat type kisses.

Moxie arrived on Sunday, after a long walk with our other foster (male boxer) we came back to the house for play time in the yard. They ran and wrestled, enjoying typical boxer play. Between working out their boundaries with each other most of the day, they napped together and took turns watching out the window. It's been raining for 2 days so we have had a few long walks, but not as much play time in the yard as we would all like. She is adjusting well to her new environment and playmate.
Moxie is very sweet and does sit very well. She pulls hard on leash and jumps very high, so we will be working with her on walking and jumping.

Moxie is beautiful 1.5 year old brindle girl that is coming into the program as her current home does not have the time
to give her what she needs. Moxie has been with her current home for approximately 7 months; at her first home, she was being
crated for 10 hours a day for the first year of her life so she has never really experienced the things a normal puppy should be experiencing.
She is a very energetic girl that will need a strong leader to work with her on her manners and proper socialization. She is
showing signs of protectiveness in her current home and she has a tendency to be nervous/ fearful when meeting new people so slow
and proper introductions will need to be taken with Moxie. Moxie has bolted through the electric fence at her home a few times
and has chased a few people down the street. She barks at them and then stops.
Moxie is okay with other dogs but
is a little bit on the dominant side, so if she was to be placed in a home with a canine companion it would need to be a male who
was more on the submissive side. Moxie would benefit from a home where someone is home more often than not and her
new home must be willing to hire a trainer to work with her on her on basic training/manners and to help her learn how to be a dog.
Moxie currently lives with older children and does fine with them. We are unsure if she is good with cats so we will not be
placing her in a home with cats. Please check back for more updates as we secure a foster home for this beautiful
girl.
