Well Trixie and her Foster Family spent some time in school this weekend! Team Trixie is finding ways to
help her from feeling so stressed out when she meets an aggressive dog or other triggers that get her worked up! Her new trainer
could not say enough great things about her and she said she was already impressed with her abilities. The trainer even
gave the team insight on ways Trixie is already trying to calm herself down in those situations – and boy is this girl TRYING!
We have been practicing all of these new ideas and it is working fabulously. We can redirect Trixie’s attention even better
and that is half the battle. We have beefed up her training and she loves every minute of it. She loves to show
off her ability to focus and she looks right into your eye as if to try and ask you if you are proud. We will continue with
training on a regular basis so Trixie is going to impress everyone she meets.
We had a great time playing with the hose during
the hot nights this week but Trixie is not as excited as her Foster Brother about getting wet so it has turned into a fun game instead
and she was able to use up any extra energy she didn’t use during her nightly walk. Trixie just wants to be part
of a family. Can you be that family she so desperately wants and needs?

Trixie is such a doll!
She loves to play, she loves to get into trouble but she also loves just lying in the yard or next to you in the house.
Although Trixie lives with our resident Boxer boy, it is clear that she is the dominant one. One thing we have found is that
when Trixie gets overly excited or stressed out by another animal, she aims her stress onto our resident boy. Her handler needs
to be aware of these situations almost before they happen so Trixie doesn’t even get to that state. She has shown us that she
is not great when another dog is around that gives her attitude especially when she is on leash … she immediately informs them she
is boss and her stress levels intensify immediately. She needs immediate re-direction and focus to her handler. She
has met other dogs and has been fine – this is only in certain situations which is why we believe this behavior can be modified with
some work. For this reason, Trixie will do best in a home as an only dog and a home that is willing to take Trixie to training
to help work on being reactive on leash and the "real-world". Trixie is a wonderful girl that just needs a strong leader to
help her get reacquainted with the real-world. We do believe that Trixie was not socialized well as puppy, so training will
be a must for this girl. Over all, she is a big LOVE BUG and will make someone a WONDERFUL companion, as she loves to snuggle
and be with you at all times.
Trixie is a perfect mix of puppy and dog … she loves to play, she loves to get into
trouble but she also loves just lying in the yard or next to you in the house. She just has one rule --- she wants to be near
you. We have found out that given the right opportunity, Trixie will counter surf and is not afraid to eat anything –
so you must keep your belongings far away from the edge and out of reach. She is definitely the dominant dog in the house
but she knows her place if you are strong with her. She LOVES to learn new tricks and she loves to show them off when she gets
the chance. Right now we are working with her on “catch” – she hasn’t learned that she needs to return the ball to us when we
play – she currently thinks it is more fun to play the “try and catch me” game instead (however she makes it quite easy to catch her
after a while). Her walking has improved and we even took her to a local park the other day where she was well behaved.
She was more focused on her walk than any person or animal around. It was great! The kids love every minute with her …
even when she soaks them with kisses. Trixie has lots of love to give and deserves to find her furever home
… is that with you??

Trixie has been a big lover from day one with her almost out of control kissing and now
she is becoming even more loving while she gets more comfortable with us. She looks forward to all the family being home so
she can just be with us. She is so excited to learn so we are working on a few things with her. She would love to show
off her skills to her new family soon. Trixie is getting along great with our male Boxer once we set boundaries. She definitely
wants to be the Alpha dog in the house and should be with a dog that is submissive. She loves her play time but is also very
happy just laying next to you on the floor watching TV.
She definitely pays too much attention to small animals and thinks
she is going to be able to catch every bird she sees on our walks. So we avoid any meetings with the small dogs on the street
with her; however, you can usually get her attention pretty quickly and she resumes her walk which is a good sign. That being
said, Trixie is really quite calm for a 2 year old Boxer. Trixie would be a great addition to your family … especially
if you want to be loved a LOT!

Trixie has been with us for less than one week yet already has won
everyone’s heart. She is a total love bug and really wants to please. Trixie came to us with a little extra weight on so we
are very focused on walking her throughout the day and she is becoming quite the lady on the leash. Prior to arriving
Trixie was given food throughout the day and seemed “picky” about the food she ate but within less than a week she is
on a schedule and LOVES it. She looks forward to her meals, love the natural food and even stays at her bowl till she is done.
She shows no signs of food aggression or guarding of any type. She knows her basic commands and will even “high
five” you with the back of her paw. SHE LOVE TO GIVE KISSES and that is not an exaggeration.
Trixie loves her treats and
is willing to do just about anything you can think of for one – which is a great help with training. She has a tendency
to give the cats some unwanted attention but one call over to her requesting her attention – she is right there ready to please.
She is really that excited to make you happy. Trixie has free roam of the house and does well but like our other Boxer,
she will find her way to the bed if given the chance so you may want to limit her roaming. Trixie sleeps on her dog bed
right next to her big foster Boxer brother and seems very content throughout the night. Oh and if you are sleeping and
she needs to go out – she gently puts her front paws on the bed and licks you till you wake … aww … now what’s better than that!

Trixie came into our house with her tail wagging and her kisses on and we have not seen any different from her
today! She settled quickly into our family routine and was a member from day one. Trixie became acquainted with the
routine so quickly that on her first weekend with us she sat at the end of the driveway waiting for the bus to arrive for
her little boy before her walk! She is walking much better with us due to a front collar we have for her. She walks with
her head high and appears to have a smile on her face. She continues to great people with her "wiggle bottom" but we are still
working on her greetings with other dogs - and we know this is something that will change once we sign her up for formal training. As
for training in the home, she is attentive and 'proud' of all she does. Trixie learned "drop it" within a week and now knows
that if she does so playtime is on! Trixie is also working on "leave it" and this past week was able to ignore the deer in our
backyard - something that has been driving her crazy since she entered our home! She thinks that all animals are hers to play
with! Trixie is quick to learn and enjoys her sessions each day.
Her kisses and her voice are something that we look forward to
everyday. She loves when we enter her space on the floor and our youngest child is especially her companion and friend. We
are so in love with Trixie - we want to thank the Boxer Rescue and especially her foster mom for the wonderful job they have done
with her! We have found our forever dog!

Team Trixie has been continuing the training and Trixie is
doing fabulous. She is so focused when she wants to be – we are amazed. Of course there are the occasions when we encounter
animals on our walks like the family of wild turkeys we came upon the other day. Trixie really believes she can catch all of
them! So of course we are still working on keeping her focused on the walk even when this occurs. Trixie LOVES her Boxer
Buddy (a ball with feet the Boxer Rescue gave her). She takes it everywhere with her and does not even need someone to throw
it – she knows how to throw it herself. We just love Trixie’s personality and kisses and there is a lot of kisses! She
is going to make a family fall in love with her just like we have.
