Meet Petey! This adorable 5 year old male Boxer is coming into the program as his current family works long hours and does not have enough time to spend with him.  Petey is full of wiggles, but is gentle when you meet him.  He currently lives with a 6 year old and is wonderful with her.  Petey walks well on leash, however he tends to get very excited when he sees other dogs. Petey is also known to “bark” at his owners for attention.  He knows his basic commands, but could definitely use a refresher course. His new home will need to take him to basic obedience classes and work with him in a positive way to teach him proper manners and behaviors. Petey has lived with another dog in his prior home over a year ago, but has not since.   He comes on strong and bouncy when he greets other dogs, but seems to calm down after awhile.  Petey will need someone willing to work on socializing him and teaching him proper introductions with other dogs.  Because of this, we will be placing Petey in home as an only dog so that he can get the attention and training that he needs.  Petey is crate trained, but is not destructive if left out alone.   Please check back soon for updates as we secure a foster home for this handsome boy!
