As we get ready for the day of love, I cannot help but update you on my little love bug :) Dutch is as good
as new! She is completely healed from her surgery, the mass was benign! So she is ready to find her loving forever family! She has
this new smile on her face. Just before the big snow storm she was RUNNING around with Talon. I mean both of them were running full
speed around the yard! They were chasing each other and appropriately playing with one another. I was probably more nervous about
it then they were. I did call for Dutch to stop once and she listened and then I had to tell Talon to back down a little. He did and
he sat and waited for me to tell him 'ok'. I get the feeling he is still not sure about her and what she might do. But they have been
great and I think because she is feeling better, everyone is in a better mood. She has been playing with any and ever toy she
can find. I have upped her food intake and I can tell she is putting on some healthy weight. She is such a great dog. So pretty and
listens so well. She is just a little love muffin and wants to be loved.
Dutchess is doing well. I have a sneaking suspicion that this girl had a pretty rough life. No matter what she has been through, she is a very good dog. She has gotten to the point where she will let the cat rub all over her, but is still pretty tense about it. My cat rules this house, so I would suggest she be in a house with a strong feline or none at all. Dutchess has relaxed a bit since she has been here. Her foster brother was on a weekend vacation this past weekend and during that time, Dutchess was the most relaxed I have ever seen her. This girl would do best in a home where she is the one and only queen. She is magic on a leash and takes treats with such grace. She is crate trained and house trained. She is the definition of a lady. She is sweet and loves to give kisses and get belly rubs. We are still trying to put some weight on this little lady as she came to us a little under weight. She has her surgery scheduled for the 18th of January. She has energy for a young 8 year old. She will grab a toy and run and play 'keep away', it is really cute, we have a dog run and she loves to run around in it. This little lady also LOVES the snow! She is a beautiful girl and would make the best companion. If you are a person that worries about being able to 'handle a big dog', worry no more! She is a chihuahua in a boxer body! She is so gentle, graceful and listens very well. You know you have room in your home and your heart for this Dutchess.
Meet Dutchess! She's
a young 8 years old, beautiful girl that is coming into us from a local shelter, where she had been for a few months. She's
up to date on all her vaccinations. Dutchess is wonderful around people and children of all ages. Although she's
okay with cats, she is a little curious and would like to chase them. She could fit into a home with a cat as long as there
are slow introductions and the cat has somewhere to run if she decides to chase. She did live with a cat in her previous
home. She's good with most dogs she meets and gets along okay with other female dogs but would not want to live with
one. She just arrived at her foster home today and is adjusting to her new foster brother. Her foster home also has
a resident cat that is in hiding right now, so she will be introduce to him shortly. She is a little anxious, but
that is too be expected after being in a shelter for a few months. Dutchess has not been spayed so we have scheduled her surgery
for next week. She also has a large mass that will need to be looked at and removed while she is having her surgery. She
has been dragging her back, right paw a little, so our vet will be checking that out and giving her a full examination.
Please check back soon for updates on this sweet lady as she settles into her foster home.

Duchess is doing great in her forever home! We found that she knows all the usual commands (sit, shake, lay down) and will also sit and stay even when you place a treat on the floor in front of her! She's really good with my mom all day, and her leg doesn't seem to be hindering her activity at all. We're having so much fun with her and have falling in love with her already!
