Midas is a wonderful dog. He is very well behaved, has never had a crate issue, food aggression, or toy aggression. He loves to ride in any vehicle and becomes extremely excited if you say the word "ride" or take his leash out. He also plays very well with our younger boxer. He's very happy to see you in the morning or if you leave him for a bit and will prance in his excitement. He has a quirky little "snort", when he's happy that will keep you laughing. My favorite thing is his time with "Mom" at night. He hops up in my lap (all 81lbs of him) and takes a little nap (snoring quite loudly) before bedtime. We are so happy that he has come in to our lives, couldn't have made a better choice. Many thanks to The Boxer Rescue.

Midas is doing great! We have discovered that he doesn't like snow, and he goes NUTS if something lies on his nose (like if his leash lays across his nose). He seems to know how to play with people, but not dogs (much to our girls disappointment, but he’s learning quickly)

Midas LIVES to go for a ride and if he sees you grab your keys, he starts prancing! He's definitely a morning doggie, he wakes up happy and prances in to the bedroom to wake you up so he can go out (usually around 5am!)  Sarah gets up with him, but you can actually see the sleepy on her face. She doesn't even try to play with him that early, she just goes out, does her thing, comes back in and looks at me like, "can we go back to bed now?”  Their definitely keeping us laughing.   All in all, I think both of them are adjusting well.  Midas has had a few vet visits and was treated for Mites and a bad inner ear infection, caused from the ear mites.  The infection caused him to get dehydrated, so he needed fluids at the hospital.  He is on medication and on the mend with his infection.   He’s a wonderful boy and we are enjoying having him as part of our family.

Midas arrived at his home today and is settling in nicely.  He has a new foster sister that is full of boxer wiggles and loves to play!  Please check back soon for updates as we get to know this handsome boy!

Meet Midas, a gorgeous 4 year old male that is coming into the program as his current owners are unable to care for him any longer.  Midas is a big boy at 75 lbs, but is gentle.  He is a very happy go lucky boy that loves the attention of all size humans.  Midas also lives with two female boxers and adores them, so we will be looking to place him with a female companion.  He also lives with cats, but does have occasional stand offs with them, so we think it would best to place him in a home without cats.  Midas   makes cute little grunting noises when he greets you that could be confused with a low growl, but it’s not growling.  He’s just excited to meet people.   Midas loves to take walks and gets very excited at the site of a leash.  He settles into a walk after a few minutes of excitement. He knows some basic commands and takes treats very gently.    He is not crate trained, but not destructive if left alone.  His new owners will need to crate train him and need to be willing to attend a basic obedience class with him.  Overall, Midas seems like a sweet boy that will make a wonderful companion.  Please check back for more updates as we secure a foster home for this handsome boy!
