Meghan has been in a foster home for 2 months and, while we hoped it would have been her forever home, we need to find a new family for her. Megan came to us from Puerto Rico, where she was found, alone, in an abandoned building. She's estimated to be around 2 years old. She's a bit fearful of loud noises and cars, so she wouldn't thrive in a super busy city setting. We are looking to place her with no children, as she did growl at the 7 year old child in her foster home when the child wrapped her arms around Megan's neck to hug her. It did not escalate past a growl, but her foster family would like her moved as a result. Megan lived with a male dog in Puerto Rico, and loved him. He actually helped her with her confidence and offered her comfort, so we are open to placing her with a male dog, provided it's the right fit for her. She will need some training, once she is settled in her new home. It will greatly benefit her and the humans who love her. We do need to move her quickly, so if you think you could be a fit for Megan, please email us at info@theboxerrescue.org She's had a rough start in life and we just want to give her all the best moving forward. Her family is out there... We just need to find you!!!!!

Meet Megan. Our newest girl coming to us from Puerto Rico. Megan was left in an abandoned house in Puerto Rico near a busy street which was dangerous. It took quite a bit for our rescuers to coax her out but they finally got her by putting food in a have a heart trap. She is approximately 2 years old, fawn with a natural tail. She gets along very well with other dogs. She is in a foster home currently in Puerto Rico with another dog who has helped her to gain confidence. She is a fast learner and knows basic commands and is very sweet and willing to learn. She is playful and energetic. She does have some fear of noises to cars and trucks (she was in a house near a busy street alone for some time) so she’ll need help getting acclimated to those types of noises. Megan needs to be placed with a male dog so please, only apply for this girl if you have a male dog. Also, we feel strongly that Megan would do best with a fenced in yard as her foster home has a fenced in yard and she has adapted well to this environment and we want to be sure to set her up for success when she arrives in New England, so a male companion and a fenced in yard is a MUST for this sweetie. She is very sweet so children 12+ will be okay for her. She has been crated and is okay in the crate and she is getting some leash walking accomplished and doing well. Her new home will need to attend a basic obedience class for training and bonding once she settles in. If you are interested in this cutie, please fill out an adoption application on our site
