Meet Sydney.   She’s coming to us from our rescue partner in Puerto Rico.   Sydney was found in a woman’s yard in Puerto Rico emaciated.   Even though she was in bad shape her nub wiggled when our rescuers in Puerto Rico got to her.   She was taken immediately to the vet who said she was a little miracle.   She was given fluids and kept under watch for 24 hours.    After blood work found she was FINE (miracle) and no damage to any organs, one of our foster homes in Puerto Rico took her home and began feeding her 5 small meals a day for the next two weeks.  She started gaining weight!   Sydney is a LOVE!  She will need training with basic commands and she likes to jump up from excitement.   She loves all dogs and people.  Because she is super high energy, we will only place her with children over 12 as we just don’t want her knocking over a small child.     Sydney would do best with another dog as she is living with three dogs and she loves them all.    Sydney has appeared to walk on one of her tip toes and the vets in Puerto Rico believe that she has bilateral extension carpis.  This is a ligament issue in that one leg/foot.   Sydney runs and plays like a normal dog and likely will not need any treatment for this but once we get her to the U.S. we will have her looked at by one of our vets, at our expense.    Sydney is approximately 1-2 years old and deserving of a wonderful, loving home.
